New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support).
This course comprises of resources and assessment material for NZQA unit standards working toward NZ Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support).
The resources and assessment materials are designed to provide education for stylists working toward NZ certificate in Hairdressing Salon Support.
On completion stylists will have obtained sufficient knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to perform limited salon and client support services that contribute to the effective operation of the salon. (Click here for more information)
This qualification is suitable for learners who may have no prior knowledge or experience in support services for hairdressing salons
Subscription to this resource is available for Salons and trainers who wish to support their stylists in their apprenticeship requirements as an additional resource to off job or pre- apprentice training.
Stylists returning to Industry or working toward qualification by experience may subscribe to expand their knowledge in line with the national qualification please contact the system administrator to develop a training plan to suit your needs.
This site will provide the option to collaborative learning with stylists nationwide.
To complete the course requirements, competence in both theory and practical must be demonstrated.
To participate working toward NZ Certificate in hairdressing as a pre apprentice or apprentice you need to be enrolled with an accredited training provider.
To participate as a fully qualified stylist returning to industry please contact the site administrator to determine the most suitable course.
The theory components will be assessed via this site. The practical components will be assessed at an accredited training provider or may be assessed by alternative arrangements in accordance with NZQA and HITO requirements
Stylists not enrolled in a training provider who wish to participate in this course and an apply for Recognition of Prior Learning must comply with NZQA and HITO requirements.
New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Emerging Stylist).
The second of three courses that provides resources and assessment material for education of stylists to complete a qualification as an "Emerging Stylist".This course builds on from the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) (Level 3) course.
At the end of this course stylists will have developed sufficient knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to perform salon and client services that contribute to the effective operation of the salon.
Graduates will be capable of operating at an intermediate level under broad guidance (click here for more information)
Completion of this course leads onto New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing Professional Hairstylist Level 4.
Competence in National Certificate in Hairdressing Salon Support is required prior to commencement of this course.
The resources and assessment materials may be facilitated and / or delivered by accredited training providers to enable the registration of the formal qualification

This is the third and final course that provides resources and assessment material for the education of stylists working toward NZ certificate in Hairdressing (Professional Stylist) level 4.
Stylists will develop the knowledge and practical skills to independently perform salon and client services that contribute to the effective operation of a commercial salon.
The resources will help stylists work toward becoming a qualified Professional Hairstylists, capable of operating with complete self-management, integrating fashion services and meeting commercial salon requirements.
The resources and assessment materials may be facilitated and / or delivered by accredited training providers to enable the registration of the formal qualification
